The SPRINGLAKE has area has remained largely undeveloped over the years and therefore, our guests are able to witness much of Florida's wildlife in their natural habitat. Plenty of quail; dove; wild turkey; the rare and protected SandHill Crane; gator; fox squirrels; boar; bobcat and deer, can be seen at any given time in the area. There are several wildlife management areas a short distance from the Resort, including the 3,800 acre Wildlife Sanctuary in Florida's oldest State Park (Highlands Hammock), located just 10 miles from SpringLake.LAKES & CREEKS: SpringLake is bordered by the banks of Lake Istokpoga, the 3rd largest freshwater lake in Florida. Thirty square miles of fine fishing often produce catches of bass in the 8-12lb range. Scenic Arbuckle Creek, whose plentiful supply of panfish, specs and bream also provides a boundary and should not go without mention. Boats, bait & equipment available at the Spring Lake fish camp. |
